What people ask before they switch.
Do our members have to install an app or create accounts?
No. Check-in, live class sessions, and volunteer RSVPs all work from a phone's camera and browser — scan, tap, done. Accounts are only for the people who run things, and staff can add BetterGather to their phone's home screen for one-tap access.
We already keep our duty roster in Excel. Do we start over?
No — you import it. BetterGather reads your existing workbook, turns it into recurring commitments and role assignments, and generates draft schedules from there. Your spreadsheet is the starting point, not a casualty.
How do people sign in?
With Microsoft, with Google, or with a one-time code sent to their email — whichever they already have. Personal Gmail and Outlook addresses work fine; nobody needs a church-issued account.
Does it work with the calendar we already use?
Yes. Connect Outlook for full two-way sync refreshed every 30 minutes, or subscribe to any ICS calendar feed. Events show up in BetterGather; BetterGather events show up in Outlook.
Is our congregation's data kept separate from other organizations?
Yes. Every record is scoped to your organization and that boundary is enforced at the database layer on every query — not by convention, by architecture. BetterGather runs on Microsoft Azure.
